After launching the Erumpent Rescue campaign a month ago, we have been floored by your response to the plight of erumpents and rhinos!
The Environment Minister of South Africa Edna Molewa will be hearing our voices loud and clear. We have sent her 450 howlers!!! That’s like 15 Dumbledore’s Armies!!! If one Dumbledore’s Army can make a huge difference, imagine what the voices of 15 armies’ worth can do. Our Erumpent Rescue campaign also received press coverage on the largest Harry Potter news sites around the world including MuggleNet, The Leaky Cauldron, and La Gazette du Sorcier!
World-renowned veterinarian and rhino conservationist, Dr. William Fowlds, even shared the Erumpent Rescue campaign with his tens of thousands of rhino-saving followers and activists.
And our t-shirt fundraising campaign to raise money for Saving the Survivors to help save and care for injured rhinos was so successful that we met and exceeded our goal of 50 t-shirts. That’s $700 (9,000 South African rands) that will be going directly to the veterinary care of rhinos who have been victims of poaching! Even Potter-loving YouTubers Anna Brisbin, Tessa Netting, and Dayeanne Hutton supported the campaign!
We would like to give a very special thank you to Devon Murray, MinaLima, all of the rhino conservation organizations, Action for Rhinos, Saving the Survivors, and the Hogwarts Running Club for all of their support--we couldn't have had these victories with you!
We are really ecstatic about how many of you stepped up to the plate and made your voice heard for the fantastic rhinos of South Africa. Your friends at the Fantastic Beasts Foundation, and the rhinos, thank you!
