New Protego Foundation Executive Director Announcement

The new year is bringing some new and exciting changes to the Protego Foundation team! Originally founded in 2015 as the Fwooper Foundation by Tylor Starr and Kathryn Henzler, we have seen a couple of name changes and a lot of growth during the past few years. ​

Within that growth, we’ve seen the need to add more team members after many successful campaigns leading to the improved lives of magical creatures in our world. Part of that team restructure includes a new Executive Director! But she’s not new to us. 

As of January 1, 2020, Kathryn Henzler will be the new Executive Director for the Protego Foundation! "I'm very much looking forward to using this opportunity to reinvigorate our relationship with the Harry Potter fan activist community with new campaigns and partnerships that will help animals even more than in the past."

Tylor Starr will now be our Program Director, while also remaining the President of the Board of Directors, and he is excited to hit the ground running. “Coming up with the idea for the Protego Foundation was the second best idea I’ve ever had; the first was asking Kathryn to join me in making this idea a reality. I’m excited to be handing over the operations of the organization to Kathryn, and to be putting my full focus on creating impactful campaigns and forming even deeper ties between the Protego Foundation and the Wizarding World fandom.” 

The Protego Foundation is a non-profit fandom organization that fights to end the abuse of the creatures in the no-maj world inspired by the Wizarding World. Our goal is to have a wizarding fandom that is more considerate of the rights, feelings, and treatment of all creatures regardless of species, size, or magical ability.
