At the “Fantastic Fans and Where to Find Them” panel at San Diego Comic-con 2017 on July 23rd, 2017, Fantastic Beasts Foundation co-founder Kathryn Henzler announced the organization’s first campaign to save South African Rhinos, “Erumpent Rescue.”

New campaign is set to launch in August of 2017!

She gave the hundreds of fans in attendance and the fandom panelists, including Heidi Tandy (FictionAlley, Organization for Transformative Works), Elizabeth Minkel (New Statesman, Fansplaining), Kat Miller (MuggleNet), Dr. Ebony Elizabeth Thomas (the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education), Adrienne Alwag (Dumbledore's Army [LA]), Nick Lang (A Very Potter Musical, StarKid Productions), Alexa Donne (Brightly Burning), Justin Zagri (Severus Snape and the Marauders), David Carpenter (Puffs; or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic), and Jessica Ward (U.S. Quidditch), the inside scoop on details of the venture. Attendees were also given fliers to encourage them to become members of the Fantastic Beast Foundation and engage in the fight to help the magical creatures of the muggle world.
